HARDEX BRAKES BECOMES A CERTIFIED MANUFACTURER OF BRAKE PADS

September 17, 2015

Hardex, in addition to itself becoming an ISO 9001 certified company, holds several certifications for its products, including AMECA, LeafMark and VCA. These certifications attest to Hardex’ product quality and allow establishing market presence in North America and Europe in addition to other regions.

ISO/TS&ISO 9001:

Hardex Brakes Corp.’s manufacturing facility is certified under ISO/TS 16949:2009 and ISO 9001:2008. The former certification is awarded based on the design, development and production capabilities regarding automotive parts. The significance of the mentioned certification is that Hardex products are among the top quality products available in the market, regardless of the geographic location. Both the headquarters and the production facility is certified under ISO 9001:2008, which is an approval of the organization’s ability to:

  • Demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and

  • Enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Emark ECE R90 by VCA:

Vehicle Certification Agency  (VCA) in the United Kingdom issues the ECE R90, which is awarded only after passing a multitude of tests related to bedding, performance checks, brake tests, cold performance and speed sensitivity features. Hardex has passed all of the tests and has received the ECE R90 certification in 2015. ECE R90 is required for all brake products to be used throughout the European Union and other countries that have adopted the ECE regulations.

AMECA:

Issued by Automotive Manufacturers Equipment Compliance Agency, Inc., the “Compliance List of Automotive Safety Devices” is a comprehensive listing of items that have been tested and found compliant with the applicable standards. LINK Labs, an AMECA-accredited laboratory has tested Hardex products under SAE J661 and approved the quality of Hardex products.  Upon passing FMVSS-135, FMVSS-105, FMVSS-121 Hardex gained a place on AMECA List of VESC V-3 Brake Friction Material Edge Codes August 14, 2015. The AMECA certification is a requirement for companies wanting to import any product into the USA.

AASA LEAFMARKS:

Hardex Brakes Corp. has also been awarded the LeafMarks certification, which were created by Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA). The mentioned certification requires that the friction material pass several tests under SAE J2975 and SAE J866, which are mainly concerned with regulations regarding heavy metals and asbestos form content of the products. Being 100% asbestos-free, Hardex products have been approved by an AASA-accredited laboratory and awarded the Leaf Marks certification. Just like AMECA, AASA Leaf Marks is required to be able to sell within some states in USA.
